Password PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY If you have used the Banner PIN that was originally assigned to you to login to Bb, you can and should change it something only you will know. Why? Because in Bb, you have e-mail privileges, your grades may be posted and your course may contain copyrighted material. Changing your password and keeping it secure ensures that only you, as an authorized user, can login to your Bb course to access secure information and functions. NOTE: Changing your password in Bb does not change any other Canisius passwords, including those for e-mail and Student Services. Q Announce Announcements How can I get announcements to the class between class sessions? Students can check all your course Announcements on the Canisius Bb tab. By default, announcements from the last 7 days are shown. Click the appropriate tab to see others. Don’t forget to check your e-mail. Instructors may also communicate that way! Q Docs Course Material Instructors can post Word, HTML, PowerPoint and Excel documents as well as pictures and video. These documents can be “filed” in the Course Information, Course Documents or Assignments sections of your course site. Students will click on the appropriate button to find the documents. Q Docs Course Material Documents may appear as a link. Usually, links describe what kind of file the document is. Documents may be organized into folders. To access a folder or document, click on the link. Depending on the settings of your Web browser you will either open the document or be asked to save the document. The open the file with the appropriate application ( Word, Excel, etc.) The File can be returned, graded, to the student by clicking Send File. Q Help FAQs Once into your course site, click on Tools, then Manual. What should I do if my password doesn’t work, or if I’ve forgotten it? Click “Forgot your Password?” on the login screen and follow the prompts. Your password will be sent via e-mail to the address that is specified in Bb. Q Trouble Your web browser is not configured to handle the document. Try downloading the most recent version of Internet Explorer. Your document is open within the Bb frame which is the active frame. Click in your document to make it active. Then save or print it. Either your computer does not have the necessary software to open the document or it is not the same version as the one the document was saved in. You can use one of the labs on campus to save the document and/or you can notify your instructor to see if the document can be posted in a version your computer can read.
