  • 2013 RI CONVENTIONWhat is RYLA?• Initially the Rotary Youth Leadership Award(RYLA) program was established to payrespect and concern for youth byRotarians.• Today our focus is on RYLA for ages 19-30that have high potential to be goodcandidates for Rotarians in near future.
  • 2013 RI CONVENTIONToday’s objectives: Issues/ solutions• However, awareness of RYLA programamong Rotarian is limited, despite thepossible benefit to all Rotary community.• There is urgent need to promote thesignificance of the program to incomingdistrict Governors’ Nominee and Elect,beyond each district.

We need to expand and promote RYLA programamong Rotary leaders in Japan.Plan• 2007: Set up an all day annual Japan Rotary YouthLeadership Awards Institute Forum for Rotarians.• 113 participants from 28 districts (out of 34) participated Governor, Governor-elect & nominees, Past Governors,RYLA Committee Chairs, New Generation programchairs (for non-RYLA districts), other interestedRotarians.
