Renovation<br />Volunteer time was significant<br />Over $10,000 was raised and spent during renovation on local businesses and contractors (electrical, plumbing, etc)<br />Installed a professional quality Walker Display System for exhibiting artwork<br />The main floor, front section is now fully renovated<br />Back portion of main floor (up the four steps) and upstairs have not been renovated, but mostly require only clean-up<br />

Highlights & Activity<br />Grand Opening in late December of 2009<br />Performances began in January 0f 2010<br />13 performances in the Hall during the first quarter (10 free admission, 3 ticket)<br />3 Gallery shows during the first quarter<br />15 performances and 3 shows during the second quarter of 2010 (12 free admission, 3 ticket)<br />Open mic music and poetry nights each month<br />Gallery open on Tuesday and Saturday from 1-4:00 pm<br />
    9. 9. IbiyankaAlao<br />Nigerian Art Ambassador<br />Won the prestigious United Nations International Art Competition amongst 61 countries<br />One day only exhibit<br />Featured his artwork and authentic Nigerian food<br />

Community<br />Raised $375 for families of local servicemen<br />Armed Forces Day show benefited local servicemen<br />Raised money for Dream Come True<br />Nazareth Community Band able to practice rent-free<br />A theatre student received funds to attend a summer program<br />Working with VIA of the Lehigh Valley to find an employment position for Andy Weaver<br />Paintbox Art Club now uses the Center for their meetings<br />Conducting a joint art program with the YMCA<br />Co-conducted the Kazoo Parade with the Chamber<br />
    11. 11. YMCA & The Center<br />Launching an Art Class program in conjunction with the YMCA<br />Courses will be designed by the Center and taught at the Center for both members and non-members of the YMCA<br />Program will begin in the Fall<br />

The Thrill on the Hill<br />Brown Daub Chevy of Nazareth is sponsoring our major fundraiser taking place at the Nazareth Borough Park Amphitheatre<br />August 29, 2010 beginning at 2:00 p.m.<br />$5 per ticket or you can pick up tickets in the showroom for free<br />Event features Tyler Grady’s band Wailing Waters, Magic Bean, and Jimmy and the Parrots<br />Family friendly summer music event with proceeds benefiting the Center<br />

The Saturday Showcase Series<br />The sounds of the Series range across folk rock, psychedelic 60's music, classic American singer/songwriter music, country, blues, acoustic rock, classical, and experiential guitar<br />Each show ticket is $10 and a series 12 ticket pass is $60, which can be used 12 tickets at one show, one at 12, or however the user would like to split it up<br />

Closing Remarks<br />The Center has and will continue to support and partner with other community organizations and individuals who are experiencing a time of need<br />The Center offers artists and performers with a venue where they can showcase their talent<br />Having the Center improves the quality of life for people in the community by providing a wide range of quality, free and low-cost, high value entertainment<br />The people attending events at the Center are exposed to the stores and restaurants in the downtown area<br />

Final Comment<br />A vibrant downtown area is critical to our community<br />The Center is a destination venue drawing people from throughout the Lehigh Valley into our downtown and to our shops and restaurants<br />The more successful our existing businesses become, the more new restaurants and shops we’ll see start-up<br />We are an economic development tool for the borough, whose by-product is improving the quality of life for the community!<br />
