O & S Front Cover <ul><li>The masthead is nice and colourful with a font appealing to it’s target audience – art students. </li></ul><ul><li>The main image has been manipulated to give it an artistic watercolour effect. </li></ul><ul><li>No particular coverlines as such, they are names of artists and poets featured in the magazine. </li></ul>

O & S Contents <ul><li>The contents page is of a simple layout and contains the “regular features,” being the art and poetry reviews. </li></ul><ul><li>Contains “articles of the month” feature, being the poets and artists. </li></ul><ul><li>Also contains the editors and publishers involved in the magazine. </li></ul>

Skin-Deep Front cover <ul><li>Big, attractive title, features a catchy selling line “The UK’s best selling tattoo magazine.” </li></ul><ul><li>Contains lots of coverlines featuring events and famous tattooists. </li></ul><ul><li>Free offer advertised in the skyline, regulars advertised at the bottom line. </li></ul><ul><li>Left third features main cover line, giant main image clearly showing attractive tattoos etc. </li></ul><ul><li>Appeals mainly to younger, artistic students and adults. </li></ul>

Skin-Deep Contents <ul><li>Features huge advertisement for body jewellery and piercings, as well as hygiene products. </li></ul><ul><li>Crediting the editors and designers of the magazine. </li></ul><ul><li>List of articles including regulars and articles of the month e.g interviews. </li></ul><ul><li>Features massive letter from the editor. </li></ul>

Comparisons <ul><li>O & S appeals to artistic and designer students and younger people, who like to create drawings and paintings, or write poetry. </li></ul><ul><li>Skin-Deep appeals to younger people, artistic students and creative people who think of the human body as art. </li></ul><ul><li>O & S seems a very shy magazine compared to Skin-Deep. O & S has a basic front cover, featuring a few artists involved in the main articles of the magazine. Skin-Deep has a wackier design, featuring many coverlines, events and interviews. </li></ul>
