  • Data / Item Limits  Per Library  Max. 5000 items (each (sub)folder also counts as an item)  Fixed if using OneDrive for Business  Can be more if using webaccess, but not recommended  Filesize max. 2GB per file  You can't upload files that have a *.tmp or *.ds_store extension, and you can't upload desktop.ini, thumbs.db, or ehthumbs.db files  You also can’t upload locally saved webpages (page and _files folder)  Additionally, you can't upload files whose file types are blocked on the SharePoint site 5 things to know before implementing Office 365 - Roolit BVBA - Assesteenweg 117/7 1740 Ternat - Belgium

  • Server Essentials and/or Azure AD If you want/need to use your own servers  Use Windows Server 2012 R2 Server Essentials or Standard to manage users and synchronize them with Office 365  This enables users to login to your local domain and Office 365 with the same account If you don’t want/need your own servers  Manage your users, mailboxes, licensing, … using the webapp for Office 365  You have the same amount of functionality as you would on your own server 5 things to know before implementing Office 365 - Roolit BVBA - Assesteenweg 117/7 1740 Ternat - Belgium
  • OneDrive for Business vs Sharepoint Webaccess OneDrive for Business seems an easy option to use since the end-user impact is small. However the application isn’t 100% production proof.  Sync issues  Unclear as to what the issue is  No option to resolve all at once, but file per file  Often one file causing several files to not sync, no means of knowing which file  People don’t take notice of the sync status  Often occurs when people are working on large libraries  Currently no repair tools available, only a complete clean-up and re-sync will help You can avoid these issue by only using the webaccess, but this means users will need more time to adapt to the way of working 5 things to know before implementing Office 365 - Roolit BVBA - Assesteenweg 117/7 1740 Ternat - Belgium
  • Management Account and Licenses When counting the necessary licenses take into account that you need one extra for administration purposes for the following products  Exchange  Sharepoint Online For some reason Microsoft thinks that administration should be done with account that uses the licenses. If you do not provision these licenses to an administration account, you will not be able to manage everything you need. 5 things to know before implementing Office 365 - Roolit BVBA - Assesteenweg 117/7 1740 Ternat - Belgium
