VideoLAN Step 1 Once on the videolan.org web site, Click on the latest release.
VideoLAN Step 2 Click on the latest release
VideoLAN Step 3 Click on your OS
VideoLAN Step 4 Click here
VideoLAN Step 5 Save to your PC
VideoLAN Step 6 Click on Open or Close. If you Close, find it and click to install.
VideoLAN Step 7 Select to folder to install VLC and click on Install.
VideoLAN Step 8 After VLC is installed, place the icon on your desktop.
Joining a Streaming Session 2. Click here to join a streaming session 1. Click on the VLC icon on your desktop
To join a unicast session 1. Click on UDP/RTP 2. Fill in Port (Confirm with hosting site) 3. Click on OK 4. You will automatically join the session as long as the unicast session has been started on the MAC 500 Joining a Unicast Session
To join a multicast session: 1. Click on UDP/RTP Multicast 2. Fill in Address 3. Fill in Port 4. Click on OK 5. You will automatically join the session as long as the multicast session has been started on the MAC 500 Joining a Multicast Session (Confirm with hosting site)
Capturing a Stream To capture a stream: 1. Click on Capture input stream 2. Browse to desired folder 3. Rename stream to file (name + .mpg, or .m2p) 4. Click on OK
More Capture Options 1. Choose “Stream Output,” “Settings” 2. Choose “File” and name file 3. Choose “Encapsulation Method” 4. Choose “Video Codec,” if transcoding is desired, and “ Audio Codec”
