  • 4. HISTORYThe area around Glasgow has hosted human populationsfor millennia, the River Clyde providing a natural area forfishing. The Roman Empire was built later outposts in thearea, and separate Roman Britannia Scotland occupied bythe Celts and Picts, construyose Antonine Wall, theremains can be seen today in Glasgow.
  • 5. GEOGRAPHYGlasgow is near river Clyde in the center-west region ofScotland. Its second most important river is the Kelvin thename was used for creating the title of Baron Kelvin andwith this ended as the scientific unit of temperature. In theold maps of Glasgow is within the area 1975 county ofLanarkshire, from 1975 to 1996, will appear withinStrathclyde Region, current maps generally show Glasgowas one of 32 council areas of Scotland.
  • 6. CLIMATEThe weather in Glasgow is not typically found in the rest ofScotland and England, for several reasons. The city is also protected by the ClydeValley hills surrounding the city keeping quite wetthroughout the year. The temperature is usually milder thanthe rest of the country. In general, the temperature issimilar to that in Glasgow Northern England. In Scotland,the climate is likely to change in a rain storm to a heat wavein the same day.
