  • 4. 4 Draft ETSI MI 02054 V<0.0.3> (2008-04) Intellectual Property Rights IPRs essential or potentially essential to the present document may have been declared to ETSI. The information pertaining to these essential IPRs, if any, is publicly available for ETSI members and non-members, and can be found in ETSI SR 000 314: "Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs); Essential, or potentially Essential, IPRs notified to ETSI in respect of ETSI standards", which is available from the ETSI Secretariat. Latest updates are available on the ETSI Web server (http://webapp.etsi.org/IPR/home.asp). Pursuant to the ETSI IPR Policy, no investigation, including IPR searches, has been carried out by ETSI. No guarantee can be given as to the existence of other IPRs not referenced in ETSI SR 000 314 (or the updates on the ETSI Web server) which are, or may be, or may become, essential to the present document. Foreword This Miscellaneous Item (MI) has been produced by ETSI Technical Body TISPAN, as part of a joint activity with 3GPP SA2 in order to provide the framework for in-depth technical analysis with regard to the synergies between Gq’ and Rx reference points. This activity will take into account any impact on RACS and PCC architecture and protocol aspects. The results of the analysis will be used as an input to determine the way forward for a converged Gq’/Rx interface. This document will include, by reference, the latest draft of 3GPP SA2 deliverable 23.822, along with an Annex containing TISPAN discussion items and notes. ETSI

  • 6. 6 Draft ETSI MI 02054 V<0.0.3> (2008-04) Annex A (informative): TISPAN Discussion & Notes A.1 Additional issues to be included: Editors Note: Contributions on other issues are invited! A.1.1 Charging A.1.2 Overbooking indication Editor's Note: Ref WG2-04-020r1 A change request is required against Gq' in order to clarify the possible transitions of the overbooking indicator between the initial reservation and the modification procedure A.1.3 Emergency calls Insure effective handling of emergency calls: Additional features which may be required for handling emergency calls (going beyond the priority indicator) have to be explored. This may be relevant for PCC and for RACS. Editor's Note: Ref WG2-04-017r1 It is proposed to adopt for the Gq' reference point the same approach as for the Rx reference point, i.e. to complement the Gq' reference point with an explicit indication that the request to the RACS corresponds to emergency traffic. It is further proposed to not use the priority at the session level the Service Class for this purpose. This may create a backward compatibility issue with the previous specification of the Gq' reference point (for TISPAN R1 and R2), in which an emergency call was implicitly identified by the priority specified at the session levelas a different approach is used fr identifying a request associated with an emergency session. A.1.4 Policy Context Selection Editor's Note: Ref WG2-04-012r1 Policy Context Selection is a new functionality introduced in TISPAN RACS for IPTV, this was agreed in clause 4.x, but not in the basic functionality. Some indication of management of the Context needs to be added to the Gq’ specification in TISPAN. There may need to be more text on the support of Multicast on Gq’ today. ETSI
