  • 利用 3G 或 DVB-H 觀看影片的差異 有的手機型號,可直接接收數位電視,而目前透過電信業的 3G 網路服務,也可以看到數位電視影音,其實,此類技術大多利用基地台、再透過電信業者,就可以收視節目,與直接接收數位電視的運作邏輯,略有不同。 直接接收不需透過電信業網路,而是直接接收無線廣播的電視信號,優點是不會因為電信網路雍塞,造成影像停格或延遲現象,這種技術也同樣為 DVB 的 1 種,只是因為用於手持式的行動裝置,所以被稱為 DVB-H ,與 DVB-T 架構相同,且使用相同載波,僅調變模式不同,但仍是共用同 1 個發設站,這 2 項技術,關鍵是在於 DVB-H 設計規格中,已針對手機電池續航力進行開發。 DVB-H 技術在於,當使用者切換頻道,轉換到哪一台時,解碼器才解哪一台的訊號, DVB-T 則是同時把所有頻道一起解碼,所耗用的功率較高,當然,若是把 DVB-T 技術直接用於手機…等行動裝置上,光耗用於解碼的功耗,就相當可觀。 DVB-H 技術,還可以細分 3 種模式,第 1 種是以電視台為主,電信業者作中間的橋梁、與客戶管理,另 1 種以電信業為主,透過基地台播送數位電視信號,最後 1 種是任何 1 家公司都可以參與,只要提供相關服務,透過手機或是電視廣播,是 1 個新的結合方式。
  • The MHP specifies an extensive application execution environment for digital interactive TV, independent of the underlying, vendor-specific, hardware and software. This execution environment is based on the use of a Java virtual machine and the definition of generic APIs that provide access to the interactive digital TV terminal's typical resources and facilities. The interoperable MHP applications are running on top of these APIs. A so-called Navigator-application, which is part of the terminal software, allows the user the access to all MHP applications and other DVB services (like TV and radio). The MHP is just a part of a family of specifications, which all base on the Globally Executable MHP (GEM)-Standard, which was defined to allow the world-wide adoption of MHP.
  • A Control Word (CW) generator generates a CW, which is used to scramble the program content. The CW is also used to generate an Entitlement Control Message (ECM) in an ECM generator, which is located in the Subscriber Management System (SMS) server. The ECM is related to the program content and holds the access criteria. The ECM is used for recovering the CW in the MHP Terminal. On request from the SMS the Entitlement Management Message (EMM) generator in the Subscriber Authorization System (SAS) server generates an EMM. The EMM holds information about the access status/entitlements of the user. The EMM is usually broadcasted in the transport stream, but could also be sent to the MHP Terminal over the return channel for instance when buying VOD movies. When the EMM is sent over the return channel an (MHP) application have to feed the EMM to CA subsystem (Smart Card) in the MHP Termial.
  • Xlet is the interface used for execution engine application lifecycle control in MHP.
