Most recently she was the Head Writer for Scholastic Entertainment’s Clifford’s Puppy Days, and a freelancer on Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! While working on a Kids WB show called Generation O! she met children’s author James Proimos, who talked her into giving children’s books a try.Thinking one day about Alice in Wonderland, she was struck by how pastoral the setting mustseem to kids who, like her own, lived in urban surroundings. In New York City, you’re much more likely to fall down a manhole than a rabbit hole and, if you do, you’re not going to find a tea party. What you might find...? Well, that’s the story of Gregor the Overlander, the first book in her five-part fantasy/ war series, The Underland Chronicles.
SUMMARYIn Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins, Katniss Everdeen has just participated and won in the Hunger Gameswhich is an annual event where children from the twelve districts fight to the death. The book starts out withKatniss going around in the victory tour which is something to celebrate the winner or, in this case, winners (Katniss and Peeta. ) Katniss cannot wait for everything about the hunger games to disappear from hermemory. So after the tour is over she gets to spend a couple of normal weeks in her district. It just sohappens that every twenty-five years there is an event called the Quarter Quell which is another event that allthe districts have to participate in. Unfortunately Katniss was the only girlvictor from district twelve so she had no choice but to participate and Peeta who was Katniss’s partner for theHunger Games volunteered for Haymitch when he was called. So off went Katniss and Peeta to the samearena and the same game. Although every other victor was bigger and older and you could almost say wiserthan Katniss and Peeta. Haymitch had known many of these victors which led him to make alliances withthem for Katniss and Peeta. The day comes and Katniss enters the arena once again but now everything haschanged. Along the way Katniss finds out a mysterious entity about the arena, has many people save her andPeeta’s lives. Will Katniss survive through the mysterious arena? Read this great story to find out.
