  • 1. Shell Shock (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)
  • 2. Considered an Illness During World War l, many scientise believed this was a physical illiness that could not be cured.
  • 3. Reaction Over 306 British Soldiers were executed by their own government cause of this trauma in World War I.
  • 4. Symptoms ( #1 Fatigue)
    • The most common stress reactions include slowing reaction time, slow thinking, cant handle stress, overacting, thousand foot gazes.
  • 5. Symptoms ( #2 Nervous System) Headaches, Backaches, Constant Sweating, Nausea, Insomnia, Nightmares, Mistrust, Confusion, Depression
  • 6. How They Tried To Treat It
    • They Tried To Treat It By Pumping Soldiers with different kinds of medicine. Bascilly using their own soldier as test animals.
    • This however caused the soldiers to either die from the medicine, or most actual ended up killing themselves.

  • 8. Inference To Causes At first they thought it was a disease that was caused from what came of the bombs that exploded near them.
  • 9. Real Cause From World War I Trenches. Being stuck in a trench with sometimes people you didn’t know. Watching them get killed. Bombs dropping, while you sit there hoping one does not hit you but continusely shakes the ground. Also, having the thought in your mind that theres no chance you surviving, kind of gets too you.
  • 10. Still Around Soldiers Still fall to this problem. They only cure is therapy treatment. Another big time of Shellshock besides World War I, was Vietnam.
