  14. 22. Social Media manners <ul><ul><li>RETWEET.  Twitter let’s you “retweet” someone else’s tweet. Either just as is, or copy-and-paste it with an &quot;RT&quot; and comment. Retweet things that are relevant or that you think are awesome. This is a good way of building rapport, engaging in the community, sharing. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>DON’T SPAM.  Yes, you’re there because of your business. Be judicious about how often you overtly advertise or promote your work. Mix it up.  </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>REPLY TO YOUR FOLLOWERS.  I keep coming back to this, but social media is a conversation. Show you are a real person. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>DON’T RETWEET YOURSELF.  Seriously, don’t be that guy. With a couple of exceptions.  </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>DON’T FLOOD THE ZONE.  In other words, stay alive, but you don’t need to post every five minutes. </li></ul></ul>
