  2. 2. How Much Do I Charge The Client? So what is the hourly rate for a web designer? If you’re fresh out of college, about £12-15 ($18.50-$23) an hour. If you’ve got a few years experience, about £18-£25 ($28-$38.50) per hour. If you’ve been hard at it for years and have a few regular clients under your belt, charge an hourly rate that maybe starts at £30+ ($46+) an hour or more. So if you’re running a design business you should definitely be charging more than £30+ ($46+) an hour.
