  4. 4. Overview Best Practice Technical Committee was formed on 13th April 2011 under the direction and guidance of Mr. Ahmad Saif Al-Sulaiti, Dukhan Operations Manager.
  5. 5. Mission & Vision Mission To close the discovered performance gaps through sharing best practices and lessons learned in safety, operation, maintenance and production with other oil and gas operating companies. Vision To develop Dukhan Operations – Qatar Petroleum to be a “model for best practices” among all other well recognized oil and gas operating companies. (IOCs & NOCs)

Objectives To improve safety & production efficiency through knowledge sharing To adopt best practices in Dukhan Operations to increase production efficiency Risk Practices Safety Visits Process To identify, evaluate & manage risks to increase operational effectiveness To review existing process/area & identify potential areas for improvement To conduct technical visits and adopt new ideas through benchmarking process

  10. 10. 1.1 Local Visit - Dolphin Energy BPTC conducted their first local visit to Dolphin Energy on 14th June 2011 to benchmark on the following areas:  Maintenance Strategy  Safety Practices  Turnaround Strategy  Reliability Programs  Trip/Failure Investigation Report  Materials Management  Maintenance /Pipeline Repair Strategy  Test Run Methodology/Evaluation  Continual Improvement Plan  Contingency Plan & Resource Planning  CSF & KPI Development & Management
  11. 11. 1.2 Local Visit - RasGas Followed by another local visit to RasGas on 12th April 2012 to benchmark on the following areas:  Reliability  Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) Program  Bad Actor Elimination Program  Equipment Strategy Program  Asset Verification & Materials Optimization  Reliability KPI’s
  12. 12. 1.3 International Visit – PDO (Oman) On 19th to 22nd November 2011, BPTC conducted their first international visit to PDO (Oman) to benchmark on the following agenda:  Collaborative Working Environment  Stop Card Program  Permit to Work System  Operational Excellence Module

Module  BPTC developed an application tool - Initiative Assessment Module  Review and evaluate the involvement of best practicse in different areas  Utilizing SWOT Analysis Technique in order to review potential impact on asset integrity, health & safety, economics, environment and overall benefits to Qatar Petroleum.
