  • DAPS is very decentralized – providing a thin, very effective layer of capability spread around the world. Providing traditional bulk printing services On Demand output , and Electronic Document Management and multifunctional devices .
  • DAPS has been in business for a very long time …from just after WWII through the consolidations of the early 90’s and then successfully navigating the turmoil of the A76 and MID 909 processes. We are alive and well, in our 59 th year of achievement and doing better than ever. Key points: Working Capital Fund Have to recover our cost After surviving the A76 in 2002 we immediately the Management Initiative Decision 909 which said to get dir of DAPS entirely. We met with DOD heads and discussed what we were doing in the field of Document Automation. We came out of that with a mission to help move the DOD towards Automation.
  • Paper is going down, there is no way to stop that. In fact we don’t want to stop that. Our online access work is increasing and we see that as our Future.
  • We are located around the world near our DOD customers. We are broken down into 10 regional organizations and headquartered in Mechanicsburg PA. Army 60, AF 55, Navy 37, USMC 5, Defense 23 (includes 17 DLA), Federal 11, Total 191 CONUS 159 DAPS – P 20 DAPS – E 10 GTMO/PR 2 Total 191

With the introduction of our new EMS System, we're transforming the way we manage the business. Our enterprise level software application provides an automated process for maintaining equipment information, allowing DAPS to actively track and manage customer equipment needs. DAPS can also place experts on-site with customer organizations to meet their equipment maintenance, user training and management needs. Assessment Studies: DAPS is committed to help customers meet their performance objectives. DAPS will provide a comprehensive assessment of your needs. The relationship among digital printing and imaging assets such as the number of MFDs, printers, employees, fax machines, scanners and physical space must be evaluated to provide customized solutions for customers. Bottom Line: By right-sizing your solution, DAPS can save you 25-40 percent upfront even before the requirement goes to the vendor. More Assessment Info: DAPS recommends vendor neutral solutions using digital printing best practices to meet established benchmarks in value, service and savings. The DAPS process incorporates consideration of equipment acquisition costs, equipment capabilities, utilization rates, per page costs, equipment access and storage considerations, the customer workflow and other user considerations. Key cost drivers include: print categories and quantities, toner costs, the impact of ink coverage on costs, volume, equipment utilization rates and acquisition costs. DAPS provides a comprehensive solution to fit your needs. The relationship among digital printing and imaging assets such as the number of MFDs, printers, employees, fax machines, scanners and physical space must be evaluated to provide customized solutions for customers. DAPS often recommends multifunction devices in lieu of less economical printers to support increased performance and functionality at reduced costs. Utilization rates for both networked and desk side printers are often well below manufacturer recommendations. Average military output ranges are used to assess the need for additional printers. Standard MFD to employee ratios are used to support printer replacement recommendations. The true cost of documents is often much larger than the cost of equipment, paper and toner. Hidden lifecycle costs associated with the storage, retrieval, distribution and destruction of documents is often several times the cost of printing costs. The DAPS EMS solution is part of the DAPS “total document solution suite” of solutions that encompass traditional printing and electronic document solutions. For each dollar spent on measured output costs, there are several dollars spent on other unmeasured costs. -This is what we do– We take care of your document requirement to free you up to do your core job - DAPS currently manages 14,328 devices for the Air Force DAPS is Co-Located at 56 AF Bases (CONUS & OCONUS) Currently 42,000 devices DOD/Federal-wide DoD wide buying power on MFD contracts—competitive price Delivers savings 5%-40% below GSA Schedule Ensures DoD compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations Meets Unique DOD Networking Requirements Proprietary Inventory Management tool Tracks inventory Accepts automated billing from vendors Provides contract administration Provides various production reports E-mails customer monthly billing statements Provides capability for desktop assessment of overutilized and underutilized machines 20 DAPS Contracting Officers and 44 MFD program personnel on staff for day to day management Regionally located around the world—located where the customers are Provides localized customer support and oversight DAPS absorbs all overhead and expenses for management of MFDs including: Acquisition Contracting Billing Vendor Service Management Inventory Management Reduced acquisition costs through competitive process Consolidated buys for maximum “Buying Power” savings - Legal and contracting support infrastructure DAPS follows DOD applicable statutes, regulations policies and standards Conducts assessments to eliminate desktop printers Driving the customers to a 15-1 person to MFD ratio Identify under utilized and over utilized MFDs and make recommendations for replacements to cut costs and increase operational readiness

  • Information sheet Cryptographic Access Certificate Electronic Document Management System also known as AF CMS (Cryptographic Management System) Over the last 3 years DAPS Midwest with support from DAPS Philadelphia has developed an Electronic Document Management System to manage Air Force COMSEC access. There are now 143000 personnel records in the database and there are over 1500 users with more to be added because the newest version of the website was just put into production the week of April 24th which allows new types of user access. DAPS maintains this system, which has been specifically configured for storage, retrieval and updating of documents pertaining to Air Force Cryptographic Access Certificates and other COMSEC management programs. It allows all COMSEC account managers to update information pertaining to their account in a real time status, instead of waiting on the mail. COMSEC managers enter initial data relating to new users, generate the AFCOMSEC IMT 9, then the form is mailed to AFCA, digitized and linked to the social security number in the database. It also tracks the polygraph records and account information for every account which includes the tracking of COMSEC incidents. It becomes a final document so it saves many costs that were involved regarding mailing, time processing, and cost to make into microfiche, for storage. Numerous government agencies use the system including Air Force, FAA, Air National Guard units, DISA, DLA and contractor accounts such as BOEING, LOCKHEED MARTIN, SAIC, DLA HQ, educational (MIT), FAA, NAVY, NSA, Office of Special Investigations, CENTCOM, DCMA, DDC, DDMS, STRATCOM, PACAF, USCENTCOM, USSPACECOM, USSTRATCOM and many more. Air Force Cryptographic Access Program (CAP): The Cryptographic Access Program identifies all personnel within the Air Force that have access to COMSEC material classified SECRET or above. Anyone who has access to this material must sign an AFCOMSEC Form 9 stating that they understand the responsibilities associated with handling COMSEC material and agree to properly safeguard it under penalty of law.
