    • This is considered a psychological disorder.
    • Inflated since of ego.
    • Many become preoccupied with themselves.
    • Causes are virtually unknown.
  • 4. Speculations to Causes
    • The actual cause of the disorder is unknown.
    • Although, heavy pressure from parents to succeed and use of drugs are common factors in people with the disorder.

    • Obsessive self interest
    • Need of constant attention or praise
    • Exaggerate talents and achievements
    • Self centered goals
    • Strong reactions to criticism
    • Being preoccupied with fantasies of power, love, and fame

    • Usually begins in early adulthood
    • Signs are common in some adolescents but psychiatrists conclude that it most likely is corresponded to a certain age.

    • You are more likely to develop the disorder if you experience;
    • Lack of affection and praise in adolescence
    • Neglect and emotional abuse in childhood
    • Parents that push their kids hard to succeed.
    • Parents that teach manipulative behaviors

    • Various types of psychotherapy including;
    • Group Therapy
    • Cognitive-behavior Therapy
    • Family Therapy

    • No medicine has been developed for narcissism.
    • Although, if symptoms of anxiety or depression are present anti-depressants can help a ego. Psychotherapy could take over several years to work due to the fact that the habits of narcissist are habitual.

    • There are no known ways to prevent the disorder from occurring. Although, parents who push their kids very hard to succeed have a chance to have a child that develops narcissism

    • Many people that have the condition claim that they were just born better than others.
    • People with this disorder can often have daydreams of fame, wealth, and love.
    • People with the disorder are highly recommended to stay away from mind altering substances
  • 18. History
    • Was formed from a Greek god named Narcissus who was so obsessed with himself he thought all females were unworthy of him.
    • Disorder is seen in less than 1 percent of people.
