Rikvin Explains On Work Visa Singapore Requirements<br />There are three premier work visas issued by the Ministry of Manpower in Singapore depending on the purpose and qualifications of the applicants.<br />An equal opportunity provider, Singapore welcomes foreigners with various talents and skill-levels. Investors can apply for an Entrepreneur pass and Employment pass, while employment seekers can apply also for an Employment pass, Personalized Employment pass, S pass, and Training pass.<br />“An Entrepreneur pass is distinctly given to investors who haven’t accomplished their Bachelor’s degree yet. It is also exclusive for an entrepreneurship,” says Rikvin, a Singaporean-company dedicated to aid foreign companies, investors, and employees.<br />“Once the EntrePass, its shortened form, is released, its holder can register a company in Singapore and occupy the position of a resident director in a private limited company, subsidiary, or a branch office,” Rikvin adds.<br />The Ministry of Manpower lists down the requirements as having impressive entrepreneurial skills, business proposal, and a minimum capital investment of S$50,000.<br />“The business proposal must be 10 pages long outlining the business goals, commercial activities, products and services, marketing strategies and management approaches,” chimes Rikvin.<br />The Employment pass is classified as Q1, P1, and P2 depending on the salary offered and or received monthly in Singapore.<br />“Q1 requires S$2,800 monthly wages, P2 requires S$4,000, and P1 requires S$8,000,” says Rikvin.<br />Only registered companies can apply for work visas, thus, they sponsor the application for labor passes for their foreign employees. Meanwhile, for an investor applying for an Employment pass, the company ought to be incorporated first.<br />As the Employment pass is distinctly given to foreign professionals, it is implied that the applicants have earned a Bachelor’s degree. Among the required documents are Transcript of Records from the alma mater, Employment Testimonials or Certificate of Employment, and curriculum vitae highlighting the career or employment history.<br />One disadvantage of an Employment pass, however, is the inflexibility. It is tied up to the employing company. So, once the employment is terminated, the holder has one month to find another employment, lest he has to leave Singapore. The Personalized Employment pass or PEP is different.<br />“The PEP is flexible. It is not tied up to any company in Singapore. Once you have it, you can change employers at any time without having to revoke and renew the work visa. You also have 6 months to find employment in Singapore,” chants Rikvin.<br />It is also valid for 5 years.<br />Meanwhile, an S pass is given also to a foreign professional but is given a salary offer of S$2,000.
