      • Define the pre-requisites for students to attend the course, effectively participate and meet the Learning Objectives:
        • Knowledge
        • Skills
        • Experience
        • Personal characteristics

    3. Logistics for In-Person Training
      • Logistics
        • Recommendation – 20 students maximum for 1 trainer
        • Venue
          • Sufficient room for number of students
          • Sufficient lighting and comfortable temperature
          • Sufficient room for group exercises and break out sessions
          • Appropriate multi-media equipment (e.g. LCD projector, screen, flipcharts, whiteboards, etc.)
          • Suggested seating configuration: U-shape to allow more student-to-student and trainer-student interaction

    4. Logistics for In-Person Training
        • Language
          • Course registrants should be clearly notified in advance of written and verbal language requirements
          • If necessary, translation must be provided. Translator should be fluent in both languages, have some technical knowledge about the course content, and should review the course content prior to the start of the course.
          • Simultaneous or sequential translation may be used.
          • If sequential translation is used, instruct the trainer to adjust the duration of specific modules to make sure that all key learning objectives are met. For example, some activities or exercises may be optional, or the duration of the day extended, within reason.

    5. Materials for In-Person Training
      • Pre-Course Materials
        • Pre-course materials to be distributed (preferably electronically) to all students at least 14 days in advance, or upon registration
          • course objectives
          • course agenda
          • details on how the student will be evaluated – e.g. exam and grading policy, credit for student participation, etc.
          • copy of the relevant code or standard
          • any relevant background or guidance documents
          • pre-course questionnaire on learning styles and individual motivations for taking the course, and expectations from the course

    6. Materials for In-Person Training
      • Course Materials
        • During the course, students should receive printed course books with the following:
          • Pre-course material
          • Course presentation slides (preferably formatted with room for note-taking)
          • Group exercises, individual practice problems
          • Case studies
          • Toolkits, including sample forms – e.g. completed audit report, completed non-conformance report, audit checklists, etc.
          • Background reading materials
          • Links to information resources, including websites

    7. Materials to Provide the Trainer
      • Course book - same as provided to the students
      • Tutor notes - key talking points to increase consistency among trainers
      • Course roster, listing student background
      • Results of pre-course questionnaire on learning strategies and objectives
      • Pre-course quiz to distribute on first day of course
      • Checklist of modules, required and optional
      • Checklist of exercises, required and optional
      • Handouts and visual aids
      • Criteria and guidelines for evaluating and grading students
