  • 2. Introduction
    • What is the Texas STaR Chart?
    • 3. Why is it necessary?
    • 4. Do all teachers have to complete it?
    • 5. Are we on the right path?
  • The Texas STaR Chart was developed around the four key areas of the Long-Range Plan for Technology, 2006-2020.
    4 key areas:
    Teaching and Learning
    Educator Preparation
    Leadership & Administrative Support
    Infrastructure
    4 Levels of Progress
    Early Tech
    Beginning Tech
    Advanced Tech
    Target Tech
  • 6. The STaR Chart is utilized in measuring the impact of state and local efforts to improve student learning through the use of technology as specified in No Child Left Behind, Title II, Part D.
  • 7. All teachers are required to complete the Teacher STaR Chart. The school district determines the deadline for completion.
Teachers may take online training to become familiar with the STaR Chart

  • 12. Conclusion
In the past 3 years La Porte High School has continued to be a Developing Tech campus. We have not progressed as other campus’ in our district. Our goal is to become a Target Tech. We must continue to focus on all of the key areas, however Teaching and Learning and Education Preparation and Development are our weak areas.
