Session 1: Nature v Nurture - The Development of a Psychopath
Forensic Psychologist &
Life Sentenced Prisoner
A Forensic Psychologist will discuss the possible explanations as
to why an individual develops a Psychopathic Personality Disorder
and her experiences of interviewing them in prison.
Session 2: Ideal Prison
An interactive session where students will discuss “Why People
Commit Crime” and what should be the punishment for the crime
Session 3: Criminal Justice System
Students will take part in this interactive session and work in
groups on a True Life case. Students will discuss and debate the
police arrest and the court trial procedures, before making a
decision as a Jury on the verdict and sentence.
Session 4: Life Behind Bars
Hear from a released Life Sentenced prisoner found guilty of
murder. He will speak about his time and the psychological
impact and consequences of his confinement in prison, the effects
of institutionalisation on his release and the impact of being
labelled a murderer.
Session 5: Opportunity to ask questions to the speakers
