To cope with the future industry changes, domestic related manufacturers have formulated measures including cooperation, market expansion, getting listed for capital raising, which are all covered in this issue. Fengle Seed's revenue in 2009 was USD153 million and its net profit was USD9.9 million, up 11.17% and 156.91% year on year respectively. Stated-owned Sino-Agri is reported to establish a new agricultural material distribution company. Southwest China has been severely hit by heavy drought since autumn last year, causing huge loss to agricultural production in this region. Urea price drops by 3.8% this month, attributed to the oversupply, price fall of raw materials and the wretched weather. China pesticide industry currently is showing refreshing signs, including price rebound, being improved industry structure and favorable export environment as well, etc. Jiangsu announced to promote 52 pesticides active ingredients to protect major crops like rice, wheat and cotton in Jiangsu during 2010~2011. To reduce the dependence on imported oil and raise peasants' income, the Chinese government again stresses on the development of non-grain fuel ethanol in the coming years. Total pest and disease occurrence area is smaller than the same period last year at present.
