  • Promote the goals of the Mountain West Digital Library
  • Part of our role at the MWDL is to promote new collections.
  • Metadata can be idiosyncratic. It can be highly localized, especially with unique or rare items. Some records were created with AACR2, some were created with RDA. Some were created with nothing at all. Of course, we want to automate as much as we can.
  • Local field that should be hidden from harvesting. Placing semi-colons at the end of each entry to a field is going to be repeating.
  • Won’t be an issue in DAMS like ContentDM because the dates are already formatted. Also, things like letting them know that the only dates that should be mapped to Dublin Core field “Date” are the dates of creation not other dates like date of digitization. Dates can be displayed a variety of ways, but they must be imported a certain way. Won’t be an issue in DAMS like ContentDM because the dates are already formatted.
  • DPLA named a 2013 Best Website for Teaching & Learning by the American Association of School Librarians (AASL)
