  • 4. Why Should Businesses Use Twitter? To connect with your customers Serves as a direct communication channel Increases brand loyalty Customer feedback Listening/replying will benefit the business and brand Spread company news and product/service developments Increase the number of links to your site and content Increases visibility, customer base, and sales
  • 5. Twitter Best Practices Create tweets that resonate with your audience Share useful, engaging content like pictures and links Behind the scenes, developing projects, etc. Keep tweets short and sweet Between 120 and 130 characters Avoid sounding too promotional - be human!
  • 6. Twitter Best Practices Simply reply Engage with your audience to build relationships! ! Follow interests to discover compelling content Search for industry leaders and relevant keywords ! Tweet often (3 to 5 times a day, then adjust quantity/time Best time to tweet - between 1-3 p.m. Mon. thru Thurs. Avoid tweeting best content after 8 p.m. & on Friday

  • 8. Branding on Twitter Have a defined brand voice/personality Serious, sarcastic, etc. - what defines your brand? Consistency is key! ! Choose a background that matches your brand Create custom, consistent branded images Keep the dimensions in mind Profile Picture: 81 x 81 px Header Image: 520 x 260 px
  • 9. Branding on Twitter ‘About’ section - incredibly important Most important points of your business Introduce yourself - shorter is better Best practice: Include link to your site
  • 10. Engagement Be conversant with two-way conversations Sparking conversations and answering questions builds your community and keeps content interesting ! Use keyword searches to find new users/conversations ! Have clear goals/create an action plan Define where you want to be and how/when to get there Use meaningful metrics to quantify goals Make sure everyone is on the same page
