NicWars Game Concept is my attempt to Gamify for Solution of the Problem of Smoking.

Smoking is the Single Largest Preventable cause of disease and premature death. Based on a research from WHO, Tobacco users need help to Quit and most users want to Quit. The research also states that Counselling and medication can more than double the chance that a smoker who tries to Quit will actually succeed.

NicWars is a game concept that attempts to assist people to help their smoker friends and colleagues quit smoking, slowly, steadily and surely.

  • 5. … and How Gamification Helps pg1 • A non-smoker takes up a social cause to help a friend quit smoking. BE THE HERO. • The non-smoker, invites the smoker to join a game. He also invites other folks to join in to encourage the smoker to quit smoking. COMMUNITY. • The smoker Abstains from Nicotine during his chosen short periods each day over a week. AUTONOMY, CHALLENGE. • Each challenge overcome, the Folks applaud, this encourages the Smoker to make Progress. FRIENDS. Gamified by Rajesh Shenoy 5

BADGES, PROGRESSION TO MASTERY. • Non Smoker Leaderboards (number of smokers being converted) & Smoker Leaderboards (levels cleared). LEADERBOARDS. • Once a Smoker is converted, he can help another Smoker Friend to Quit – this way, the chances of him getting back to Nicotine are reduced. Notes pg2 • Autonomy for the Smoker, he can choose the Smoke Free Hours in the day. • There is an option of Boo’ing by the Guru and the Folks, if the Warrior cheats. • A Cheating Warrior may be demoted by the Folks and the Guru because he brings dishonor to the clan. • Once a Smoker reaches the Guru level, he will be encouraged to accept a smoker to convert.
