  • 1. Rahul Gandhi‘s Rally in Chhattisgarh Rahul Gandhi in Raipur Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi while addressing a big election rally in Raipur in poll bound Chhattisgarh raised questions against BJPs 10 year tenure as there is more violence and fear in Chhattisgarh than Jammu and Kashmir. “I came from Jammu and Kashmir few days back and if you compare Chhattisgarh with Jammu & Kashmir then there is more violence and fear here in Chhattisgarh.” Rahul Gandhi said in the rally. BJP talks about terrorism and says there should be a fight against terrorism. But the amount of fear, violence we see in Chhattisgarh, cannot be seen in other states. I was in Jammu and Kashmir few days back and if you compare between Chhattisgarh and Jammu & Kashmir then there is more violence and fear here in
  • 2. Chhattisgarh. BJP alleges that Congress party doesn’t take any action against terrorism. Our whole state leadership were killed. Our leaders had risen from the ground levels that were fighting for Chhattisgarh, killed by Naxals. BJP government did nothing and people are being killed here on regular basis. There are more Moaists dominant place here than any other state. BJP questions us why we are not doing anything against terrorism but they keep mum against Naxal violence in Chhattisgarh. Where there is fear and violence take place then it’s difficult to develop there. BJP leaders roam around and cry over corruption but don’t see corruption in Chhattisgarh. People know who is corrupt and who is not, how much money has come from centre government, people know everything. Coal belongs to you, it’s not a property of any minister, but it belongs to common man, youth and women of here and same goes for land. BJP talks big against corruption but they don’t see the corruption taking place in Chhattisgarh under their rule. They don’t see atrocities against women and the menace of unemployment in Chhattisgarh See More: - Rahul Gandhi Rahul Gandhi in Kharsia (Chhattisgarh) strikes chord with people; slams BJP Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi while addressing a huge election rally in Kharsia in poll bound in Chhattisgarh, appealed that people must remember the great sacrifice of former Congress leader late Mr. Nandu Kumar Pate, who was killed by Maoists, alongwith several other senior party leaders in Jiram Valley on 25th may this year. “Chhattisgarh has to remember Nand kumar Patel because that’s the only way you find your path. Nandu Patel was killed on 25th may in Jiram valley. Every day is 25th may for common man, oppressed people, Dalits and tribals in the state; and every place is Jiram Ghati. Atrocities on women is also May 25 and when youth are devoid of education then that day is also May 25 and that place is Jiram Ghati You are being exploited every day and everywhere here”, said the Congress President. “He was a man of the masses. Now Congress thinks in the manner he used to think. Whether it’s RTI, MGNREGA or Food Security Bill we want to empower women, youth and the people of villages. Your money, your power should belong to you and our efforts are in that direction” he added. Rahul Gandhi then struck an emotional chord with the huge gathering and said “I want the people of Chhattisgarh are empowered. I want proper utilization of your
  • 3. money. That’s why I have come over here. I was sad because I had found a leader in Nandu Patel. I want not one but around 500 Nand Kumar Patel. I will not bring them from Delhi, I want them from the crowd here who can stand up and kick out BJP from here... these thieves from here. That is the only way we can move forward”. See More: - Rahul Gandhi Rahul Gandhi at Kanker(Chhattisgarh) hits out at BJP govt in the state Kanker (Chhattisgarh): Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Friday addressed his a massive election rally at Kanker in poll bound Chhattisgarh. While speaking on the occasion, the Congress leader hit out at the BJP government in Chhattisgarh, accusing it of snatching the rights of people, especially tribals. The Congress Vice President assured that a Congress Government in the state will transform Chhattisgarh and the people will start getting their rights. “We are trying empowering the people. We talk about panchayati raj, we talk about empowering the youth, the tribals but the BJP is trying to snatch your rights” said the Congress leader slamming the ruling BJP Government in the state. “Today, what you have here is a government of industrialists. They take away your lands, forests; we want to change this. We want a government ruled by common man. Congress will come again in Chhattisgarh, everyone knows this” added Rahul Gandhi. “I could learn that there are no teachers in schools here. Do you have adequate teachers in schools or sufficient doctors in hospitals? No; What type of government is this? Their leaders are saying, it’s a shining government, I don’t see any shining here. I sense fear in women’s heart. Youth don’t have jobs, so what type of development BJP is talking about?” asked the Congress leader and assured that Congress will form a government here and will take care of women and provide employment to the youth. Rahul Gandhi targeted the BJP govt again by saying that it runs a pro-rich government in the state. “Today, what you have here is a government of industrialists. They take away your lands, forests; we want to change this. We want a government ruled by common man. Congress will come again in Chhattisgarh,” said the Congress leader.
  • 4. Rahul Gandhi in Chhattisgarh: BJP govt is the champion of corruption, the world Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi addressed a huge election rally in Rajnandangaon at poll bound Chhattisgarh on Friday. He slammed the ruling the BJP government in the state by calling it the world champions in corruption. “BJP is the champion of corruption; it is the world champion in corruption” he said. Referring to the brutal massacre of top Congress leaders in the state by the Maoists in the last May, he said “I was talking about attacks on our Congress leaders. These leaders were very close
  • 5. to the people. But they were snatched from you. In fact, the attack was not on Congress but it was on the voice of common man”. “Nand kumar Patel was going to become to the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. He was unstoppable. There was only one way to stop him and that was to kill him. That is what happened”, further said the Congress leader. Launching a blistering attack on the BJP government, Rahul Gandhi commented, “For the past ten years BJP has been ruling Chhattisgarh. There is no problem with this state. There is no shortage for money, resources, lands or forests. Chhattisgarh is rich but people are poor. The BJP government says it is developing the state. What development they are talking about? Are the youth here getting jobs? Are you getting proper education? The people in the govt just talk big things but people get nothing”. “Our country cannot move forward until we empower the common people - this has been the vision of the Congress. BJP wants that the entire power rest with the chief minister and also those with him enjoy benefits. And then they make big speeches about ensuring people benefit,” Rahul Gandhi said. “You know that about 6 lakh acres of lands were acquired by the BJP government here and sold it to big industrialists, but people got no benefits. I agree we need development, but the people whose lands are grabbed also must be benefitted. That is why we brought in the land bill. Not only the farmers whose lands are acquired but the labourers who work in the land also will be compensated” said the Congress Vice President. “BJP just talks big, makes hollow promises. Congress believes in action” he quipped. “Congress is fighting this election as one. It is the party of the common people, of the poor people, of the adivasis, labourers, Dalits, women and the youth. Congress is going to form a government here” he assured. Striking a chord with the big crowd, Rahul Gandhi continued “I want to remind you that the water, the lands and the forests here belong to you. The state belongs to you. The BJP is trying to snatch this from you, but Congress will be giving it back to you. And if you want to give your land to the industrialists, it will be your choice. No one can forcibly grab your lands without your permission”. “Nandkumar Patel was your voice. When he was killed, your voice was killed. So let us form a Congress government here to initiate the process of empowering aam aadmi, poor, adivasis and the youth,” said Rahul Gandhi while concluding his speech. The polling in Chhattisgarh is scheduled to take place in two phases, on Nov 11 and 19. Rahul Gandhi in Bastar (Chhattisgarh) says only Congress believes in empowering aam aadmi Bastar: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, for the first time after May 25 Maoist attack that killed frontline party leaders in Chhattisgarh, addressed a mammoth Congress rally – Adivasi Adhikar Sammelan- at Jagdalpur in tribal dominated Bastar region in the poll-bound state. He launched a blistering attack on
  • 6. the opposition for blocking the pro-poor schemes and policies of the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre and reiterated that his party's aim was to empower tribals and aam aadmi. The Congress Vice President began his speech making a direct reference to the May 25 Maoist attack in Bastar and recalling how the then PCC chief Nandkumar Patel, who was among those killed, had apprised him that the people in Chhattisgarh were eagerly waiting for Congress to come to power. “Once during a meeting I had asked former PCC chief Nandkumar Patel about the Congress’ chances in the coming assembly polls. He told me that Congress cannot lose this election. I asked him why he says so. He answered “When I told you that Congress can’t lose this election, not Nandkumar Patel is saying so; the entire Chhattisgarh says so. I am just a soldier of the people of my state and I am just sharing the people’s voice with you”, recollected Rahul Gandhi. Striking an emotional chord with the gathering, the young Congress Vice President added “We want to empower the middle class, the poor, the Adivasis or the Tribals because we realise their strength. But the opposition thinks just opposite. They are not bothered about the upliftment or welfare of the poor and aam aadmi. They think that just 2-3 people can run the country. They think that development would be complete if the infrastructures are made. We also agree that we need roads, railway lines and airports. But at the same time, we also want the welfare and progress of the people who put in their hard work for those development works”. Addressing the massive rally, the Congress leader emphasised that the Congress had brought a number of landmark legislations aimed at empowering the people at various levels. Rahul Gandhi said the Food Security Act, RTI, Land Acquisition Act, Tribals Bill and Right To Education (RTE) Act were all in that direction. Rahul Gandhi also exhorted the tribal youth of Bastar to come forward in mainstream politics and fight for the issues of poor and their tribal brethren and assured that he would remain firmly with them in all such efforts. “ I request my Aadivasi youth to stand up and join politics to work for your people as well as for the country. I am here to support you; I am here to fight for you” promised the Congress leader. Rahul Gandhi's presence at the rally and tribal convention witnessed the presence of all state party leaders, after the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) was reconstituted following the killing of the then PCC chief Nandkumar Patel in the Naxalite bloodbath in Bastar.
