OBJECTIVES <ul><li>Obtain relationships with at least three PR professionals by December 2009 for mentoring purposes </li></ul><ul><li>Regularly engage in three social media applications by December 2009 </li></ul><ul><li>Volunteer at PR events to gain establish networks and gain a variety of experiences </li></ul><ul><li>Define my interests and skills by April 2010 in order to enter the most appropriate sector of PR for me </li></ul>

STRATEGIES <ul><li>Limit my online exposure of my brand until I feel confident that it accurately depicts where I see myself currently and in the near future </li></ul><ul><li>Utilize this year as an opportunity to network with PR professionals and gain knowledge from my interactions with them </li></ul><ul><li>Volunteer with a variety of PR companies to help network myself as well as define my best attributes and best-suited sector of public relations </li></ul><ul><li>When I am confident that I have developed my personal brand adequately, I will go to market through my social media outlets </li></ul>

TACTICS <ul><li>Twitter – tweet about relevant topics to my interests and follow PR professionals in my areas of interest </li></ul><ul><li>Blogs – develop a relationship with PR professionals and actively comment on their blogs, encouraging them to do the same with my own blog </li></ul><ul><li>Mentor – achieve a relationship with a PR professional to network and also gain knowledge from a person with a wealth of industry experience </li></ul><ul><li>Volunteer – at a variety of PR events to network and learn more about the industry </li></ul>

CRITICAL PATH <ul><li>Update LinkedIn profile by the end of November </li></ul><ul><li>Start blogging and following blogs regularly, starting immediately </li></ul><ul><li>Begin commenting on PR professionals blogs immediately </li></ul><ul><li>Engage in a Twitter search on topics of interest at least once weekly – starting in the first week of November </li></ul>
  11. 11. CONCLUSION <ul><li>My brand is somewhat inconclusive as I am still discover who I am and who I want to become. In the meantime, I am learning as I go and trying to achieve an overall brand of a responsible young professional with a keen interest in public relations and excitement to get started in a career in PR. </li></ul>
