International Alumni Ambassadors Programme towards the 400th anniversary <ul><li>A group of selected international students representing the University of Groningen in their home country for a period of one year. </li></ul><ul><li>International Alumni Ambassadors 2011-2012 </li></ul><ul><li>Albania -Bangladesh -Bosnia & Herzegovina -Canada </li></ul><ul><li>Chile - China -Ethiopia -Germany -Italy -Kenya -Kosovo -Latvia -Lithuania -Romania -Russia -Rwanda - Serbia -Uganda -Vietnam -Zambia- Zimbabwe </li></ul>
IAAs tasks and subtasks 1. Support the marketing activities of the RUG towards prospective international students 2. Be an advisor and contact point of the University of Groningen abroad 3. Initiate or/and maintain the alumni network of the RUG abroad 4. Serve as a bridge between international students and potential employers abroad -Organize a coffee evening with prospective students. - Provide country expertise advice on request -Organize a special alumni event if required (f.e in case a delegation of the University of Groningen is visiting the country). -Visit 10 top companies in their country of origin with the objective to introduce the University of Groningen and its alumni.
Benefits of being an International Alumni Ambassador <ul><li>CV building: Being a representative of the University of Groningen could be valuable for their curriculum vitae (An International Alumni Ambassador certificate for a period of a year will be granted). </li></ul><ul><li>N etworking: The programme offers the possibility to meet experienced alumni of the University of Groningen. </li></ul><ul><li>C ontact with companies in their country of origin: As part of the programme, IAAs will visit some companies in behalf of the University of Groningen. </li></ul><ul><li>P reparation programme: The activities of the “preparation programme” include training, networking , social activities and workshops. </li></ul>
