XML is designed to transport and store data. o Within a form, each data-entry field has an XML placeholder. o This placeholder allows for data to be processed and manipulated easily. o When the form is retrieved, it finds its XML data to populate the form for viewing or editing. Responds to user inputs in real time. o For the end user, any math or business logic built into the form, or any pulling of data from a database, happens on a field-by-field level.
