    2. Hi-Tech Eco System: Building blocks Venture Capitalist (VC) Local Universities other factors: “ Market” country, Science education COE (Center Of Excellence) Joint-Ventures Govt Incentives Large Multi-Nationals Start-ups
    3. Government Incentives & other
      • Tax breaks.
      • Facilities (Free Trade Zones).
      • Programs with other countries (US FT) & leverage WTO.
      • Int. treaties via UN and other Int Organizations.
      • Leverage Sister cities (e.g: Amman-Chicago).
      • Set-up Development Boards (e.g: Singapore, India, etc..)
      • Encourage “innovation” and “creation” not just use (Consumer driven economy).
      • Solid and mature legal system (IPRs, etc..)
    4. Venture Capitalists (VCs)
      • Established: Tier 1 or 2 or even 3 (Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, Global Catalysts, Red Point, Menah Ventures, etc..
      • Company funded Ventures (e.g Moto Ventures, Cisco Ventures, Intel Capital, etc…).
      • New comers: Private Equity: Bean acquired 3Com, TPG and Silver Lake acquired Avaya, etc..
      • Need Arab Banks, Investment houses to pitch-in the Large Capital into Hi-Tech Industries: create jobs/value-based Economy..
    5. Local Universities
      • Develop curriculum to meet real life needs.
      • Assist Faculty in developing themselves and research.
      • Partners with other Int Univ (e.g: MIT )
      • Need Govt support/Incentives.
      • Need private sector: local companies (e.g: AlBahith).
      • Need private sector: Int companies. (e.g: Motorola).
      • Need Banks/VCs to fund : raise funds (Endowment).
      • Create an atmosphere of learning/creating
      • Encourage and support IP (Intellectual Property).
      • Exchange students & continue to facilitate open discussions, round tables, etc.. (e.g: PSUT)
    6. Start-ups
      • Created because of a need: Stratacom (now Cisco) Skype, Google, Facebook, and hundreds like them.
      • Will leverage all the Hi-Tech Eco system.
      • Partner with Universities (e.g: Cisco & Stanford).
      • Solve a real-life need/problem.
      • Create value and generate revenue.
      • Go public (IPO) or get acquired.

      • Market Hi-Tech “Eco-System” as part of “Marketing” country (e.g: Malaysia).
      • Collaborate with other Arab Hi-Tech Groups/Organizations in Europe, America (e.g: TechWadi & AAAEA), etc..
      • Leverage Unions more (e.g: Engineers).
      • Encourage more Science-based programs in Schools.
