Who Can Hear God?John 10:27, AMP  “The sheep that are My own hear and are listening to My voice; and I know them, and they follow Me.”  ALL BORN-AGAIN BELIEVERS have the ability to hear God’s voice  Even those who have sinned against God, including unbelievers, hear God’s voice when He intends it to be so – generally to call one to repentance •Adam and Eve in the Garden •Paul on the road to Damascus 3

God Speaks through His Written WordIn order to know what God is saying, one must know what God has said!  Pray before and after studying God’s word.  EXPECT to receive something for your life.  Meditate in the word of God until you receive something.  Work the word! DO what it says and SAY what it says.2 Timothy 3:16-17  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. 7

Hindrances to Hearing God’s Voice One-Sided Prayer •Prayer involves speaking and LISTENING •Prayer must be consistent •Meditation, worship and fasting must accompany prayer Loud Lives •We cannot hear God when always busy and hectic •Preoccupation with the things of the world (worry) causes us to miss God •Schedule time with God to ensure it is not overlooked •Pray over obligations and be led of God before making commitments Sin and Doubt •Holiness is a must! •Learn the voice of God by communing with Him •When He speaks, don’t doubt •Never argue with God; accept what He says and act accordingly 15
