    • QUESTION? Explain how Marina Bay serve as a model to the Principal of Governance deployed to help Singapore sustain its growth in the 21st Century.
    • CONTENTS• Explain 4 factors of governance in Singapore.• Explain how the government use these factors to develop the Marina Bay.• Explain how Marina Bay help to sustain Singapore’s growth in the 21st century.
    • LEADERSHIP IS KEY 1st factor for the governance in Singapore. Honest and capable leaders needed to lead Singapore to prosperity. Leader must be incorruptible. Need for good leaders to make the right decisions for the country. The law deals with leaders guilty of dishonest behavior. TO ensure that no money would be wasted.
    • ANTICIPATE CHANGE ANDSTAYING RELEVANT. The government must be forward looking to ensure that Singapore would continue to prosper. Eg, NEWater, IR Casino The Government must know when to take the risk and when not to. Singapore must be open to new ideas and feed backs from the people.
    • REWARD FOR WORK ANDWORK FOR REWARD. Meritocracy is important in Singapore. To ensure that the society remains competitive. To ensure that everybody have equal rights. Encourages people to do well.
    • A STAKE FOR EVERYONE,OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL. Creates a greater sense of belonging when people have the opportunity to voice out what he or her have to say. More ideas and opportunities created, as more people are involved in decision making.
    • HOW IS ANTICIPATING CHANGE ANDSTAYING RELEVANT USE AS AGUIDELINE TO DEVELOP MARINA BAY? It is used in many areas for example the casino and the Singapore flyer. (shown below).
    • HOW IS ANTICIPATING CHANGE ANDSTAYING RELEVANT USE AS AGUIDELINE TO DEVELOP MARINA BAY? The Government stayed relevant to the current society by developing a casino in Marina Bay. Government saw the need to build a casino in Singapore to boost Singapore’s economy by attracting tourists to gamble there. In addition, the casino also creates job opportunities for locals. This is also the reason why the Government took the risk by spending so much money and occupying so much land to build the Singapore flyer.
    • HOW IS LEADERSHIP IS KEY USEDAS A GUIDE LINE AT DEVELOPINGMARINA BAY? As mentioned in the previous slide, all that would not have been possible if the government is incapable and corrupted. Therefore, Leadership is key.
    • HOW IS REWARD FOR WORK, WORKFOR REWARD USED AS A GUIDE LINE INDEVELOPING MARINA BAY?. The government rewards people for quality work and their effort to maintain the competitiveness between companies and industries. Hence, this allows Marina Bay to prosper.
    • HOW IS A STAKE FOR EVERYONE,OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL USED AS AGUIDE LINE IN DEVELOPING MARINABAY? The government listened to the people whom said that Singapore is a boring place for tourist. Thus the government built the Marina Bay. Hey! Lets build THAT!
