BASSIM H. HAMEEDProfessor Dr. Bassim H. Hameed received his Ph.D.in Chem. Eng. from University of Salford, UK, in1992. He is a Professor at School of ChemicalEngineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia. His researchinterest is Reaction Engineering and AdsorptionTechnology. To date, he has published more than155 articles in ISI-indexed journals and other 80articles in International and national journals andproceedings. According to Scopus, Prof. Bassim’spublications have been cited over 4,350 times, with 7having been cited more than 100 times each, and hehas an author h-index of 40. According to the reportof MOHE, Malaysian Citation Centre, 2012, Prof.Bassim is the top cited Malaysian-based author inEngineering, 2001-2010 with average citations perpublication of 27.26. According to a recent ScienceDirect report, more than 15 of his articles wereamong the Top 25 Hottest Articles accessed in2007-2012. Currently he serves as a reviewer formany international journals published by prestigiouspublishers such as Elsevier, Wiley, AmericanChemical Society, Springer and Taylor & Francis. Hehas reviewed more than 500 manuscripts. He is arecipient of three Sanggar Sanjung (Hall of Fame)awards for Research Product in 2003 and 2004 andUSM Excellent Achievement Award in 2007 and2011. Also he was a recipient of seven SanggarSanjung Awards in 2007 for publishing 7 articles inISI-indexed journals. In 2008, he received 18Sanggar Sanjung awards for publishing 18 articles inISI-indexed journals. In 2009, he received theSanggar Sanjung award for publishing 22 articles inISI-indexed journals. In 2010 and 2011, he receivedSanggar Sanjung Awards for excellence in JournalPublication. He published 13 and 23 ISI-indexedpapers, respectively. Prof. Bassim has conductedmany workshops on writing publishable scientificmanuscript for university lecturers, postgraduatestudents and researchers.
