  • WILLIAM  R.  ADAMS   735  Floral  Drive,  Orlando  FL  32803    (407)  970-­‐5517  •  Prof.will.adams@gmail.com     OBJECTIVE   It  is  my  objective  to  gain  a  position  within  a  progressive,   dynamic  institution  that  recognizes  potential,  fosters   learning  and  creativity,  and  awards  accomplishment.     EDUCATION   Savannah  College  of  Art  &  Design   Master’s  Degree  in  Art  History,  Fellow  of  the   Department  of  Art  History,  3.75  GPA     Florida  State  University   Bachelor’s  Degree  with  Honors  in  Art  History,   Undergraduate  Art  History  Association,  Dean’s  List,   National  Collegiate  Honor  Society,  3.5  GPA     EXPERIENCE   Associate  Course  Director,  Full  Sail  University:  August   2012  –  Present.  As  Associate  Course  Director,  my  duties   include  overseeing  online  sections  of  the  Popular   Culture  in  Media  course,  assisting  in  the  implementation   and  evolution  of  that  course’s  curriculum,  assisting  and   guiding  students  through  the  process  of  achieving   success  in  the  Entertainment  &  Music  Business   programs,  and  analyzing,  discussing,  and  explaining   how  media  trends  are  dictated,  consumed,  and  received   by  the  consumer.   Courses:  Popular  Culture  in  Media,  Enter  Business  Final   Project  II,  Strategic  Business  Planning     Adjunct  Professor,  Valencia  College:  August  2008  –   August  2012.  I  am  responsible  for  presenting  the   information  needed  for  my  students  to  be  successful  in   Art  History,  Introduction  to  Humanities  (a  foundation   course  at  Valencia),  and  Greek  &  Roman  Humanities.  In   addition  to  providing  my  students  with  the  knowledge   they  need  to  be  well-­‐versed  in  the  subject  matter,  I  also   engage  them  in  the  material  using  both  traditional  and   non-­‐traditional  methods,  demonstrate  its  continued   relevance,  develop  their  writing  and  research  skills,  and   inspire  them  to  think  critically  about  the  world  that   surrounds  them.   Courses:  Introduction  to  Humanities,  Greek  &  Roman   th Humanities,  Mythology  In  Art  &  Literature,  20  Century   Humanities,  Art  History  I     Writing  Center  Consultant,  Valencia  College:  August   2009  –  Present.  As  a  Writing  Center  Consultant,  I  assist   students  in  mastering  all  stages  of  the  writing  process  -­‐   from  pre-­‐writing  to  to  editing,  including  grammar,   mechanics,  integration  of  sources,  and  documentation.   When  working  with  students,  I  assist  in  identifying   weaknesses  and  developing  strengths  in  their  writing,   understanding  their  professors'  expectations  and   assignments,  comprehending  and  engaging  in  all  steps   of  the  writing  process,  and  integrating  and   documenting  sources  ideas  using  either  MLA  or  APA   citation  methods.     Adjunct  Professor,  College  of  Central  Florida:  January   2010  –  August  2012.  At  the  College  of  Central  Florida,  I   am  responsible  for  presenting  art  information  to   students  by  showing  examples  of  selected  art,  providing   students  with  tools  and  raw  materials  to  produce  their   own  art,  teaching  students  how  to  use  tools  and  raw   materials  properly  and  encouraging  students  to  show   creativity  and  individuality  with  their  artworks.  In   addition,  I  have  acted  as  a  mentor  and  supervisor  for   students’  extracurricular  artistic  projects.   Courses:  The  History  of  Art  I  &  II     Adjunct  Professor,  Art  Institute  of  Jacksonville:  March   2009  –  September  2009.  By  teaching  courses  in  art   history  that  span  a  period  of  time  from  prehistory   through  the  modern  era,  I  provide  Art  Institute’s   students  with  vocabulary,  concepts,  and  images  that   will  enhance  their  artistic  endeavors  –  whether  it  be   interior  design,  game  design,  or  graphic  design.  Special   emphasis  is  placed  on  the  students’  ability  to  link   information  provided  during  the  course  with  their  own   specialties  in  order  to  enhance  their  work  by  considering   the  full  historical  context  from  which  it  springs.   Courses:  Art  History  I,  Art  History  II       Museum  Specialist,  The  Mennello  Museum  of   American  Art:  March,  2007  –  September,  2008.  Design   and  set  up  exhibition  spaces  (support,  lighting  and   signage),  create  and  disperse  media  materials,  create   and  implement  educational  programs,  design  and   maintain  website;  pack,  transport  and  install  artwork;   lead  tours  of  the  exhibition,  create  interpretative   materials  for  museum  guests,  and  prepare  loan  request   documentation.     SKILLS   Microsoft  Office  Suite  (including  FrontPage),  exhibit   design,  lighting  design,  graphic  design
