The Hersey-Blanchard situational leadership theory was originally developed by Paul Hersey and Ken Blanchard to help managers identify the leadership style they need to adopt to train their teams. This theory states that there is no single leadership style that fits all. The leadership style varies depending on the maturity level of the team members and also the task in hand. Leaders are required to adapt their leadership style to help align the new members to the goals of the organization.
