This handy, it can be used to prevent use of mobile phones in examination halls, confidential rooms and, etc. It is also useful for detecting the use of mobile phone for Spying and unauthorized video transmission. The circuit can detect the incoming calls pocket-size mobile transmission detector or sniffer can sense the presence of an activated mobile cell phone from a distance of one and-a-half meters. So and also outgoing calls, SMS and video transmissions even if the mobile phone is kept in the silent mode. The moment the Bug detects RF transmission signal from an activated mobile phone, it starts sounding a beep alarm and the LED blinks. The alarm continues until the signal transmission ceases. The capacitor C3 should have a lead length of 18 mm with lead spacing of 8 mm. we have to carefully solder the capacitor in standing position with equal spacing of the leads. The response can be optimized by trimming the lead length of C3 for the desired frequency. We are using a short telescopic type antenna. The unit will give the warning indication if someone uses Mobile phone within a radius of 1.5 meters.

  2. 2. INTRODUCTION This is a handy, pocket-size mobile transmissiondetector or sniffer It works from a distance of one and-a-halfmeters. The circuit can detect the incoming andoutgoing calls, and SMS even if the mobilephone is kept in the silent mode.

  5. 5. TRANSFORMER A transformer is a device that transferselectrical energy from one circuit to anotherthrough inductively coupled conductors — thetransformers coils or "windings". The transformer used here is a 230/(12V-0-12V) step down transformer.

  8. 8. REGULATOR SECTION A voltage regulator is an electricalregulator designed to automatically maintain aconstant voltage level. IC 7809 is used here.

  10. 10. ANTENNA A small loop RF antenna is used for reception of signal.RECEIVER The signal captured by the antenna is taken to receiver.This part consists of disc capacitor along with its leadsacting as tank circuit.

USE OF CAPACITOR To detect the signal, the sensor part should be like an aerial. So the capacitor is arranged as a mini loop aerial (similar to thedipole antenna used in TV). In short with this arrangement, the capacitor works like an aircore coil with ability to oscillate and discharge current.
  12. 12. COMPONENT DISCRIPTIONABOUT IC CA3130
  13. 13.  This IC is a 15 MHz BiMOS Operational amplifier withMOSFET inputs and Bipolar output. Gate-protected P-Channel MOSFET (PMOS) transistors areused in the input circuit to provide very-high-input impedance,very-low-input current, and exceptional speed performance. We can also use this CA3130 as voltage to current converter.
  14. 14. ABOUT NE555 TIMER IC
  15. 15.  The NE555 IC is a highly stable controller capable ofproducing accurate timing pulses. For astable multi vibrator operation as an oscillator, the freerunning frequency and the duty cycle are both accuratelycontrolled with two external resistors and one capacitor. The NE555 Timer ic is also used for Precision Timing, PulseGeneration, Time Delay Generation and Sequential Timing.
  16. 16. ABOUT TRANSISTOR BC548 Transistor BC548 is a CMOS version using gate protected p-channel MOSFET transistors in the input to provide very highinput impedance, very low input current and very high speed ofperformance.

APPLICATIONS It can be used to prevent use of mobile phones in examinationhalls, confidential rooms , etc. It is also useful for detecting the use of mobile phone for spyingand unauthorized video transmission. It is useful where the use of mobile phone is prohibited Likepetrol pumps and gas stations, historical places, religious placesand court of laws.
  20. 20. CONCLUSIONThis pocket-size mobile transmission detector or sniffercan sense the presence of an activated mobile phone from adistance of one and-a-half meters. So it can be used to preventuse of mobile phones in examination halls, confidential rooms.
  21. 21. FUTURE WORKThe prototype version has only limited range of 2 meters.But if a preamplifier stage using JFET or MOSFET transistor isused as an interface between the capacitor and IC, range can beincreased.
