How to clean your caravan

  1. 1. Simple Tips & Tricks How To Clean Your Caravan
  2. 2. Don’t be daunted by how large or dirty your caravan is. Anything can be cleaned. Just relax and take it step by step.
  3. 3. Equipment You Will Need • Cleaning Cloths • Stepladder • A Hose or Pressure Washer • Suitable cleaning detergent • Cleaning Broom • Traffic Film Remover (Optional)
  4. 4. Cleaning The Caravan Use a suitable cleaning detergent to loosen dirt and grease. Wipe away the loose dirt using a cleaning cloth rather then sponge to prevent scratches. Always keep your equipment clean. Clean equipment is required for a clean caravan.
  5. 5. “When Should I Use Traffic Film Remover?” TFR is a powerful cleanser which will also remove wax. Use TFR when your caravan requires powerful cleaning. TFR is best used to help remove large amounts of dirt.
  6. 6. Work From Top To Bottom Always clean from the top downwards. Dirty water will run down and ruin your work otherwise.
  7. 7. Cleaning Your Roof Check whether your caravan roof can support a person. If not use a stepladder to safely clean your roof.
  8. 8. Cleaning The Body Reduce strain on your body by using a cleaning broom for the top half of the body. Some pressure washers may damage caravans. Beware when using a pressure washer.
  9. 9. Cleaning The Windows Avoid cleaning in the sun but if you do dry your windows quickly to prevent streaks. Use cold water to reduce water streaks. Squeegees and Scrapers are great for speeding up window cleaning.
  10. 10. Wax For A Great Finish Always use wax after you’ve finished cleaning to protect your caravan and make future cleaning easier. Some detergents contain both wash and wax. If yours does not then apply your wax to your cloth or buffer then rub into your caravan. Wax is made from natural substances which repel water and provide protection from sunlight.
