The Design of Effective Feedback in Computer-based Sport Training - Presentation Transcript

    1. The Design of Effective Feedback in Computer-based Sport Training
      Yulita Hanum P Iskandar
      Lester Gilbert
      Dr. Gary B Wills
    2. This talk shows how the principles from pedagogical feedback work together to construct the detailed blueprint for its design
      Learning transaction
      From:
      Laurillard’s conversational framework model
      Competence
      From:
      Competence dimensions
      Cybernetics
      From:
      Control subsystem theory
    3. Learning transaction is a model of “what goes on” at the coach-athlete interface
    4. Competence conceptualised as a subject matter component and an action component (capability)
    5. Cybernetics provides a model where discrepancies in performance capabilities can be identified
    6. The framework: Principles as they surfaced in research as the keys to effective teaching and learning
    7. Data flow diagram: Illustrate the main data flows within the computer-based sport training system
    8. In summary, the proposed framework is design-oriented rather than description-oriented
Provide a machine-processable representation of competences
Allow advanced algorithms for competence gap analysis
