    • By mentorship we mean a “helpingrelationship” centred around anexperienced professional’s transfer ofknowledge and know how to a trainee inorder to advance the junior professional’sunderstanding and eventual achievement Charlesworth, Knudson and Seeman (2013)

    • It would seem imperative for mentors to haveestablished the appropriate position in thesporting and coaching hierarchy. They would haveto have the necessary amount and mix of social,cultural, and symbolic capital.
