The Little Heart A story about the Little Heart that wanted to Make a Big Difference

It was a hot and sunny day.

Under the shade of an old tree sat the Little Heart.

A nest of baby birds chirped sweetly over its head. Chirp! Chirp! Chirp! Chirp! Chirp! Chirp!

But the Little Heart didn’t notice them. Chirp!

Today the Little Heart had a BIG problem.

It wanted to make a difference in the world…

But just didn’t know how. ? ? ?

It thought it would become the town mayor. Vote for me!

But decided it was too political.

Then it thought it might become a psychologist…

But realized it didn’t really agree with Freud.

Then it thought it might become a marine biologist.

But remembered he had a phobia of sharks!

Sigh…

What was the Little Heart to do?

Then it heard them.

Chirp! Chirp!

CHIRP!

He heard the baby birds!

How interested they seemed in their surroundings! What’s that wiggly thing? I think it’s called a worm?

How happy! This is the yummiest thing I’ve ever eaten!

How full of life! Time to party, boys!

Listening to them made the Little Heart feel quite alive. It looked around and saw the world with new eyes.

And it decided right then and there, it wanted to feel this way every day…

… and learn the bestest things about the world from children

And help them learn even more new things.

And so…

… it decided to become a teacher.
