  • 3. AUSTRIA
    • Austria is a landlocked country of roughly 8.3 million people. It borders Germany and the Czech Republic to the north, Slovakia and Hungary to the east, Slovenia and Italy to the south, and Switzerland and Liechtenstein to the west. The territory of Austria covers 83,872 square kilometres and is influenced by a temperate and alpine climate . Forests and woodlands cover about 40% of the land.

    • The greater part of Austria clima in the cold/temperate climate zone in which humid westerly winds predominate. With over half of the country dominated by the Alps , the alpine climate is the predominant one. In the east—in the Pannonian Plain and along the Danube valley —the climate shows continental features with less rain than the alpine areas. Although Austria is cold in the winter, summer temperatures can be relatively warm—reaching temperatures of around 20 – 30 ° C .
  • 9. CULTURE
    • Austria's past as a European power and its cultural environment have generated a broad contribution to various forms of art, most notably among them music. Austria has been the birthplace of many famous composers such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , Joseph Haydn , Franz Schubert , Anton Bruckner , Johann Strauss, Sr. , Johann Strauss, Jr. and Gustav Mahler as well as members of the Second Viennese School such as Arnold Schoenberg , Anton Webern and Alban Berg .

    • Vienna is the capital of the Republic of Austria and also one of the nine states of Austria . Vienna is Austria's primary city, with a population of about 1.7 million which means more than 25% of Austria's population
