    1. OPINION LINES 2 Earthquake Aid Opinion Line Activity 1 Draw an opinion line like the one shown below. Short Term Aid ____________________________________ Long term aid Then position the following forms of aid along the line depending on whether you think they are short term aid, long term aid or somewhere in between.  Teams of doctors and nurses  Emergency health kits (expire in 5 years)  Tents and blankets  Counselling emotionally stressed children  Cancellation of debts  Bulldozers  Clothing  Engineers  Rescue teams with sniffer dogs  Dried food parcels  Body heat sensors  Education and play kits for schools  Toilet and shower portacabins with septic tanks  Measles vaccinations  Cash  Loans  Bottles of water  Building materials  Tinned food parcels  Fresh food parcels Activity 2 – see page 2
    2. Activity 2 You now need to add a 2nd axis to your opinion line like the one below Most appropriate form of aid Short Long term term aid aid Least appropriate form of aid Now re-position the various forms of aid moving them north or south of where you originally placed them on the fist opinion line.
