  • 1. Sexual health, including HIV<br />See Plan’s projects in action<br />Healthy babies: Plan works with pregnant women and new mothers to prevent transmission of HIV from mother to child.<br />
  • 2. Testing and treatment: Plan International supports services for people with HIV, including health care, anti-retroviral treatment, education, shelter, nutrition, protection, psychosocial support and economic empowerment.<br />
  • 3. Safe sex graffiti: Graffiti on the side of old building produced by children, puts safe sex information where everyone can see it in Lima, Peru.<br />
  • 4. Performing for life: Girls at a school in Ghana perform a play showing the challenges of living with HIV &amp; AIDS to educate elders, parents and peers.<br />
  • 5. Next generation: A pregnant woman gets an antenatal check at a health center in Guatemala where visitors can get pre-natal checks, immunizations and health checks for children under five.<br />
  • 6. Breaking the silence: Women in Sierra Leone raise awareness about female genital cutting.<br />
  • 7. Drop in: Teenagers attend a Plan youth centre that provides sexual health services to young people in the community.<br />
  • 8. Living positive: A member of a Plan-supported group for people living with HIV in Ethiopia, which creates employment opportunities through small business training, stands beside her garden with her son.<br />
  • 9. Learning to live: HIV &amp; AIDS peer educators visit a Zimbabwean community to raise awareness about preventing HIV infection.<br />
  • 10. Safe sex hotline: Trained counsellors at the Green Telephone Line Project in Burkina Faso, take 20,000 calls each year on subjects ranging from preventing transmission of HIV, to accessing treatment.<br />
  • 11. Spreading the word: A group of volunteer peer-to-peer counsellors, trained by Plan, spread awareness of sexual and reproductive health in Nicaragua.<br />
  • 12. A health affair: Young volunteers staff a booth at the Sexual and Reproductive Health Fair in Lima, Peru.<br />
  • 13. Working together: Members of a HIV support group in Zambia meet to speak about living with their illness and how they cope.<br />
