Performance through Learning pixel fountain develops and delivers learning-simulations (serious games) Blending the best of traditional and interactive learning, this approach has been used in over 350 workshops, successfully training more than 5000 individuals. Learning Solutions need to be FAST: Fun: Motivate and engage to improve understanding and retention. Authentic: Create an “experience” that reflects reality to generate buy-in. Speed: Accelerate learning to get everyone up to speed and involved in decision making. Transformational: Inspiration (motivation to act) + Simulation (how to act) = Improved Decisions.       • Regen-IT is a learning-simulation about regeneration, affordable housing, and building sustainable communities.
      • Regen-IT represents different organisations with differing needs and drivers:
      • The Housing Developer needs to make money!
      • The Local Authority and LSP need to regenerate and develop a sustainable community.
      • The Housing Association needs to improve and expand its stock.
      • Neighbourhood Management needs to ensure local people can prosper and get involved.
      • They all need to work together to get a high score!

    20. What has been achieved: The Future The learning-simulation was built on an original, but was substantially modified. The pilot was a big success, with only some minor tuning required. Next Steps: pixel fountain and Sheffield Hallam University are looking to develop on the pilot. A tailored course could be created for CPD and university courses. The simulation could be (and has been) used in community engagement. The simulation could be (and has been) used in teambuilding / away days. The approach is suited to partnership building.
