    2. WHY AFRICA STILL BEHIND?
      • More than 85% of primary pupils make the transition in most countries of Europe, Asia, North and South America
      • But in Africa only 62% complete primary education
      • In one out of four African countries, half of children enrolled to the secondary level
      • Africa has the lowest primary completion ratios in the world
      • Only 8 out of 45 countries reach Europeans level of ratios exceeding 90%: Algeria, Botswana, Cape Verde, Egypt, Mauritius, Seychelles, South Africa and Tunisia
      • However 4 out 10 children still did not complete primary school in 2002/2003
      • In 19 African countries, the ratios are 50% or lower, meaning that at least every second child does not complete primary school.
      • Only about one in three children will complete primary education in six countries: Niger (21%), Burkina Faso (27%), Chad (32%), Burundi (32%) and Mali (33%)
      • Primary education is just a beginning but, at the current slow rates, many will never catch up.
      • 22 countries in sub-Saharan Africa had low enrolments, highly unequal gender ratios, widespread illiteracy and low educational quality leading to high dropouts
      • AFRICA HAS A FORM OF GUN
      • African proverb says “ Africa has a form of a Gun, and the trigger is located in D.R.C”
      • Congo occupies the heart of Africa and it has all the necessaries potential resources to develop itself and the rest of Africa
      • Mothers die in childbirth in 13 out of every 1,000 deliveries, and there are over 4 million orphaned children in the country
      • Natural resources: Coltan, gold, diamond, petrol, zinc, cobalt, water, uranium, hydropower, divide by equator, 75% cover with forest, etc.
      • Four out of ten children are not in school. 400,000 displaced children have no access to education
      • Decline the 12 percentage points from 30% to 18% of children who will entering secondary school.

    4. WHY C.E.F.’S MAIN FOCUS IS D.R.C?
      • D.R.C. is the third largest country in Africa with 905,351 sq. mi.
      • Population is 62 million; 10 millions live in the Capital Kinshasa
      • DRC has the worst imperialism history in the world,10 million Congolese were killed from 1870 to 1908 of King Leopold II of Belgium, and 4.5 million from 1999 to 2006
      • DRC minerals is the main reason to see this country loose almost 15 million people in less than 150 years
      • Only Tantalum, Coltan, and Niobium had fuelling the war, but these are just few of DRC minerals
      • 120,000 displaced every month during a decade and 1.66 million remain displaced
    5. WHY URGED INVESTEMENT IN D.R.C. EDUCATION?
      • Education is the main key to prevent another worst thing happen in the next 10 or 20 years
      • It would be a big treat to the population security and stability if there is not improvement in the education system
      • If 5.4 million Congolese can get killed in 21 st Century without seeing the world stand up against it, what else can we expect from industrial countries that are still angry to feed their industries?
      • C.E.F. needs anyone help to stand up together and fight for this poor population who are victim of their country’s riches
      • Education systems in DRC are marked by inadequate teaching, lack of resources, like basic textbooks, chalkboards and curricula
      • Teaching methods following the old foreign curricula, and the students condition of studying are hard to believe
      • More the 30,000 children had served in this war, however more the 4.4 million children are not attending school in the country
      • This situation have to be taken seriously, the world has to stop ignoring what is going on in DRC
    6. NUMBER OF STUDENTS IN THE CLASS ROOM

      • Founded by Pitshou Y. Kafuku
      • He is the first Child of a big family of 5 boys and 3 girls
      • He from D.R.C. came to America as a refugee with his family and had taken advantage of American Financial Aid to go to college
      • Graduate in December 2005 in John Tyler Community College with Associate degree in Business Administration
      • Graduate in Dec. 2008 with Associate degree in International Business to Europe, and Maritime Supply Chain Supply Management in Old Dominion University
      • He believes that change in D.R.C. is in the hand of the young generation who desperately need help
      • Born and grow up in the city of Kinshasa, with a single mother
      • He knows much about what need to be done, and he is willing to work with community, and churches to bring change in the education of the entire country
      • He went to public school where C.E.F. is planning to launch its first major action in the country
      • The motivation of creating C.E.F. was pouched by Dr. Sam who works for USAID in Senegal, and families in U.S. and Kinshasa

      • Francine Yunga Secretary General of C.E.F. Master in Economies
      • Jeanne Mukamulera Charge in Relation Public. She is a nurse for more the 30 years
      • Willy Mwamba Charge to relation International and creation of network with other organizations. He is an Engineer in Oil drilling
      • Many of us view the Education as the most powerful weapon and believe is the main solution to change Africa
      • “ Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” Nelson Mandela
      • We are dedicate to use our intelligence, knowledge to help DRC children to get their education
    9. WHY C.E.F. WAS CREATED?
      • The war that killed 5.4 million Congolese is the main reason of C.E.F. creation
      • C.E.F. is looking to educated Congolese population about needs for a better future
      • There is not any urgent solution proposed by DRC government to prevent this kind of situation in the future
      • It is only by emphasizing education of young students that we can guaranty a save future
      • U.N. is protecting big companies that have been fueling this war for many years since 1996
      • Coltan's high demand worldwide looks not good for the peace processes in D.R.C.
      • Industrial countries as U.S., France, Germany, Belgium companies still purchasing large amount Coltan from D.R.C. because they cannot be stopped
      • These companies, such as Eagle Wings Resources International of Ohio, Cabot Corporation of Boston, Mass, Chemie Pharmacy Holland…
      • The International Criminal Court has also started its own investigation
      • RAID is calling on all named governments to cooperate with the court
    10. C.E.F. Vision, Mission, and Objective
      • Vision: Bringing this new generation of DRC different views for a better world tomorrow
      • Only if they can stay educated, healthier, and responsible for their future actions
      • Mission: Community empowerment, renovation of school infrastructure, work with teachers and staff of school where help was provided, and work with churches to be involve in education
      • Objectives:
        • Change this rate of 2 of 5 students go to high school by at least 3 or 4, increase 58% of children in primary schools enrollment by at least 65%
        • Perceive and improve the roles of African rural parents in child education and development, and become part of USAID program to help youth Congolese education to prevent Congolese population to be victim of their country’s riches
    11. C.E.F. PLAN AND BELIEVE
      • View networking with other NGO leaders as an indispensable resource for advancing its mission
      • C.E.F. is planning to design initiatives in close collaboration with parents, teachers, students and community leaders
      • C.E.F. harnesses the power of socially driven students to deliver funding, resources, and talent that helps those trapped in poverty to create a real change in their lives
      • Plan to break through conventional ways of viewing the world and placing the best capacities behind the social challenges that we face
      • C.E.F. is planning to work with whoever believes that the education is the cure for war, HIV, and famine in Africa
      • Improving rural children school, and reach schools as part of a large initiative to help the quality of education in poor communities
      • Believe that communities constrained by the cycle of poverty are highly are entrepreneurial, dedicated, and determined, but last the resources and opportunity to substantially improve their conditions.
      • Provides the infrastructure and support for college students to think critically and implement long-term solutions to eradicate poverty in D.R.C
