  • 2. <ul><li>Muskrats are rodents with brown fur and a long tail. Muskrats have sharp claws on there front feet. Muskrats have webbed back feet to help them swim. </li></ul>
  • 3. <ul><li>Muskrats live in wetlands in North America. Some muskrats build Dens others build Lodges . They sleep in there Dens or Lodges in the day. </li></ul>
  • 4. <ul><li>Muskrats eat cattail, bulrushes, and the root of water plants. They sometimes eat clams, crayfish, and snails. They are prey of minks, raccoons, coyotes, owls, hawks, and alligators. </li></ul>
  • 5. <ul><li>Muskrats mate in the warm months. It takes 30 days for a female muskrat to give birth it is usually is 5 to 6 kits per litter. Kits usually only stay with their mom for 1 month. </li></ul>
  • 6. <ul><li>Rumor has it muskrats are said to be very tasty. There dens usually have underground tunnels. Muskrats float on rafts when they eat. </li></ul>
  • 7. <ul><li>Mate-a male and female get together and produce young </li></ul><ul><li>Rodent-an animal with sharp, large, front teeth </li></ul><ul><li>Kit-a young muskrat </li></ul>
