La Société Française de Physiothérapie propose un forum pour mettre en place des liens avec les associations professionnelles de Kinésithérapie. La journée est en cours de construction mais se déroulera en 2 temps: le matin : présentation des associations au public présent et l'après-midi échange entre les représentants des associations pour définir la manière de mieux collaborer ensemble, notamment pour les JFK.

What is WCPT? • 101 member organisations (no individual membership) (General Meeting Vancouver 2007) • representing 300,000 Physical Therapists (These are the individual members of WCPT member organisations) • 5 regions of WCPT: – Africa – Asia Western Pacific – European – North America Caribbean – South America A member of a WCPT member organisation is a ‘member’ of WCPT !

WCPT’s Mission • WCPT is the sole international voice for physical therapy • WCPT encourages high standards of PT research, education and practice through policy development and a range of projects • WCPT encourages communication and sharing of information among physical therapists • WCPT collaborates with other international bodies to promote the profession and its contribution to global health

Abstracts • Research Reports – presentations of original research • Special Interest Reports – new or unique programmes or theories and descriptions of innovative ways in which established methods have been adapted – reports concerned with the organisation, regulation or management of physical therapy services, education, research development and service delivery – professional resource materials, such as computer- based programs, materials or audiovisual material
    11. 11. Abstract Presentation Format • Platform papers – 12 minute oral presentation + 3 minutes of question time, moderated by a chair • (total 15 mins reduced from 20 mins in 07) – grouped around related topics (3-6 per session) – aim for 1.5 hours ie 6 papers per session
    12. 12. Abstract Presentation Format • Posters – mounted on a poster board, allocated space per poster – presenters assigned a specific time when they will be at their poster for discussion with delegates – on display during Exhibition hours – NEW! unopposed poster and exhibition time

Abstract Presentation Format Interactive Poster Discussion Sessions • Led by a chair • Each presenter - 5 mins to discuss key points – delegates move around the room and discuss the posters with the presenters • Chair reconvenes session inviting questions from the floor focusing on key points from each presenter – provides a closing summary
    14. 14. Networking Sessions • Informal opportunity to meet and talk with colleagues who share a common interest • Facilitated by a chair • Numbers restricted (max. 40) • Timing 1 or 1.5 hours
