CHIP TRACKING Casino and table managers want to be able to track and account for all the chip movements on their gaming floor. With GPI® SAS readers installed in key spots on or near the tables, at or behind the cage, or in a variety of other places, the casino can follow payments, fills and credits, table drops, tips, and wins and losses per table at any time of the day. All of these applications improve table management with much greater accuracy. Simple timesaving tasks can promote instant cost savings. Costs decline and casinos see returns many times over on their technology investments. More management time is available to attend to players and employees instead of being involved in basic and time-consuming accounting controls. PLAYER TRACKING Player chips can also be tracked with specific player tracking hardware and software systems not offered by GPI SAS but by other specialized companies. The casino can follow player bets, identify card counters, rate players, and objectively award complementary rewards. CHIP READERS In order to implement the use of the Safechip™, Smartchip™, or Chipsoft™ in a gaming room, GPI SAS has developed various readers. The different reader types are for different uses, but all GPI SAS readers will collect information and send data to the dealer, pit boss, inspector, cashier and general management. 22 4 G A M I N G P A R T N E R S I N T E R N A T I O N A L ® S A S
    • C A G E R E A D E R A cage reader offers vast advantages for the cashier and top management combined with the adequate software which is not provided by GPI® SAS. ADVANTAGES • Gives cashiers an easy and efficient tool to eliminate human errors from the chip flow and cash flow control at the cage. • Gives management the necessary information base to keep track of cage transactions on a ongoing basis as well as historical basis. • Allows automatic and highly reliable filtering of incoming chips to identify counterfeited chips or invalidated chips. • Allows entering additional data (such as client’s name) into the memory of several chips simultaneously in a few seconds. • Easy to install and to integrate into the existing casino information system with no reduction of cashier’s efficiency. The cage reader unit is made out of a large antenna which is embedded and hidden in the cash counter, connected to GPI SAS’s CRU (Common Reading Unit). A regular desktop computer, which is not provided, linked with the casino information and accounting system will process the information. Any RFID value chips, plaques or ietons can be placed on the antenna at random or in a stack of 20 and they will be read simultaneously. When the chips are placed on the cage reader, additional information can be entered in the chip’s memory via the cashier’s keyboard such as player’s name and validation date. • C H I P B A N K R E A D E R A chip bank reader is a valuable tool for personnel in the back office, at the pit boss desk, or at the cage. ADVANTAGES • Automatic authentication of 100 - 200 - 300 chips trays. • Automatic accounting of chip inventory and of credits and fills • Elimination of human errors. • Time saving, high speed reading (100 chips identified and accounted for in less than 7 seconds). • Part of full-fledge table operation control systems. • Secure and timely information available at any time on or off premises. Chip bank readers are customized to scan all the chips in various plastic or wooden chip tray sizes from 100 to 300 chips or jetons. The tray is placed in the reader where a trigger is pulled and in less than 15 seconds all the chips are identified. Each chip is read, authenticated and accounted for. Accurate inventory control reports can be printed, all fills and credits will be recorded and double checked, and all trays coming in or out of the vault will be recorded live. US Pat.
