Bergen-Passaic, NJ (1888PressRelease) October 27, 2009 - The New Jersey Chapter of the American Marketing Association (NJAMA) announced a brand building seminar and networking event scheduled to take place November 11. Michael Smith, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Creative and Brand Strategy at Food Network, will provide an insider's look at the dynamic evolution of this powerful brand which is widely recognized as a provider not only of quality lifestyle information, but also entertainment. Mr. Smith will discuss the importance of listening to and learning from customers, and understanding the role marketers, and others, play in customers’ lives. Effective communication, driving home key messages, and staying true to the brand mission are additional topic areas. He will also share a case study on lessons from the history of the Food Network. He is credited with successfully repositioning the Food Network brand to attract a broader audience – reaching beyond its original core of gourmands and expert cooks – to successfully compete in the broader non-fiction entertainment television category. In 2008, Food Network achieved the highest prime time rating in its history, surpassing networks like TLC and E! to enter the top 20 among all cable networks. The event will take place at MediaMix, 4 Pearl Court, Allendale, NJ. Registration opens at 6:00 pm. Event attendees will enjoy a gourmet sampling menu prepared and served by the award-winning specialty caterer Kevin Oppici of Kevin's Thyme. Lovely wine pairings may be selected with the ticket purchase. Networking, MediaMix studio tours, and the four-star gourmet tasting menu also begin at 6:00 pm. A brief chapter meeting at 7:15 pm will precede the feature presentation at 7:30 pm. Early bird pricing is available through November 4; regular pricing begins November 5. Tickets will be available at the door. Additional information and online registration is available at http://www.njama.org.
