Manning Charles & Associates Limited Peter’s Tips on Practice Management #5 – Adopt a standard way of working • From the outset put in place a standard way of working on each assignment – in other words adopt, adapt and apply a methodology for assignment process and performance • By doing this your ability to deliver consistent assignment outcomes to clients is enhanced • Quality is enhanced as the potential for re-work is reduced and may even be eliminated, depending on the nature of the work undertaken • Risk management of the assignment is materially aided • Assignment and personnel performance can be assessed more easily • Appropriate standard metrics can be developed to compare one assignment with another, so that quality and process improvements can be made • Finally such an approach assists profitability, with benefit to client, staff and the practice.
