    • The biggest moor considered in the world, it is located to the North of the town of Usme. It has temperatures from 2°C to 8°C. Its origin goes back to the beginnings of the Quaternary period when the mountain range of the Andes rose to great altitude
    • In Sumapaz, one of thebiggestresources of water in Colombia isgenerated, whichmakespart of thebasins of therivers Magdalena and Orinoco.
    • In thefuture, Sumapazwouldbe a verypossiblemainsupplier of waterfor Bogotá. Also, itwouldbehelpfultomitigatetheclimaticchangebecauseitsfloorsdrains of carbon.
    • Dueto geological and moorclimateregionconditions, itischaracterizedbythepresence of bushes and trees of heightssmallerthan 3 meters.
    • Some characteristic vegetable elements of these ecosystems are Calamagrostis effusa, Calamagrostis straight , and frailejones of the goods Espeletia.
      There are also Mosses and ferns.
    • Among the fauna they are mammals like the deer and the moor rabbit, birds like ducks and eagles. They are also reptiles as lizards and snakes; there is also great quantity of species of amphibians.
    • However, it is necessary to highlight that this moor presents great quantity of disturbances that alter the structure of the ecosystem. Among this disturbance they stand out the use processes and population increase in the moors.
    • In the use processesonemustkeep in mindtheamplification of theagriculturalfrontierthat has takenmainlytogeneratemanypotatocultivationsthatputanendtothe flora, native fauna, and theyalsocontaminatetheaquiferswithfertilizers and pesticidesusedtoplant. Also, thelivestockintroductiontothismoorarea, causes damagesespecially in thefloors.
